A Conversation with Nick Cave
Moderated by Edward Goldman
Nick Cave is an American artist working with a variety of media in the space between the visual and performing arts, including sculpture, installation, performance, and video, all at the intersection of art and fashion. He is best known for his series of Soundsuits, colorful and fantastic creations that function as large-scale static sculptures as well as wearable camouflage. The works tell stories through dance and movement while concealing all aspects of gender, race and class. Cave also spearheads the Graduate Program in the Department of Fashion at the Art Institute of Chicago, and is an Alvin Ailey-trained dancer.
FREE to SDSU students with ID | $5 Members and non-SDSU students | $7.50 seniors and military | $10 general admission

Ticket holders to A Conversation with Nick Cave are invited to enjoy free entrance to the upcoming exhibition Tim Shaw: Beyond Reason on October 25, 2018 until 6:00 p.m. British sculptor Shaw creates psychologically charged environments that address humanitarian issues. Designed to unsettle and provoke thought, his work raises questions about difficult and controversial topics such as global terrorism, freedom of speech, and the future of artificial intelligence.
