Christopher Schardt

Lit butterfly art at night

Christopher Schardt is an LED artist from Oakland, California, best known for his large, immersive works such as Mariposa, Paraluna, Mind Wash and Firmament.  He also creates smaller sculptures for indoor spaces.  Many of his pieces rotate, making use of persistence-of-vision to create shimmering, high-resolution displays.

His works have appeared at many venues including Burning Man, Electric Daisy Carnival, Hudson Yards, The Smithsonian Institution, the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Oakland Museum of California, Blink Cincinnati, the Charlotte International Art Festival, and the 2020 World’s Fair in Dubai.

German Corrales

Two works of butterfly art by German Corrales

German is an internationally recognized artist and a creative force for change. Born and raised in Tijuana and San Diego’s Barrio Logan, Chicano Park, he is a first-generation descendant of Purepecha heritage from Michoacán, Mexico. As a renowned Chicano Park muralist, German has dedicated over 20 years to teaching and giving back to his community.

Currently serving as an Artist in Residence in Logan Heights, San Diego, German continues to collaborate with various organizations, including The Chicano Park Museum, San Diego Unified School District, UCSD Park and Market Murals, City Heights Music School, Perkins Elementary School, The Chrysalis Monarch Center for the Arts, and All For Logan Non-Profit. Additionally, as of October 2024, he has been commissioned by the City of San Diego to showcase his artwork on over 45 IKE Smart Cities kiosks throughout the city, with the project launching in November 2024 and running for six months. Internationally, German partners with Proyecto Coyote in Michoacán, the Gobierno de Michoacán, and the community of Cherán, where he continues to teach and paint murals in his ancestral homeland.
