SDMA May S. Marcy Sculpture Garden
Join Museum educators in the Museum garden and create a mixed-media artwork inspired by medieval astrolabes.
Experience awe and wonder through creating an artwork using simple geometry, pencils, and tools of precision (a compass and ruler) to design your unique birthdate star marker. The star marker depicts your birthdate and corresponding constellation.
This Community Art Workshop is inspired by the astrolabes on view in Wonders of Creation: Art, Science, and Innovation in the Islamic World, a special exhibition on view at The San Diego Museum of Art September 7, 2024–January 5, 2025.
No reservation required. All materials will be provided.
