SDMA May S. Marcy Sculpture Garden
Join Artist Pantea Karimi and Museum educators in the SDMA Sculpture Garden to create a mono-type botanical print
Engage in three-color monotype printing with visiting artist Pantea Karimi. Using collected botanical clippings, participants will make colorful small-size monoprints on paper, reflecting on the importance of keeping parks and historic gardens alive and cared for. Monoprinting is an accessible, expressive, safe, water-based medium, and is open to interpretation.
This project is inspired by the artist’s work featured in Wonders of Creation: Art, Science, and Innovation in the Islamic World, on view now through January 5, 2025, at The San Diego Museum of Art.
No reservation required. All materials will be provided.
Great for artists of all ages, Community Art Workshops invite artists to enjoy hands-on art making experiences inspired by the thinking and creating processes of artists on view at the Museum.
