To kick off the weekend, meet other members over coffee in the Library and Archives on Saturday morning. Throughout the weekend, members are invited to learn more about the Museum’s collection during special docent tours. You’ll receive an extra 10% discount at The Museum Store (for a total of 20% off your purchase) while browsing the colorful prints and statement jewelry from featured local artist, Sarah Stieber. Say hello to the membership team who will be on hand to answer questions about membership and the Museum, and spin the wheel for a prize! Head over to MOPA@SDMA for a screening of The Human Element, a film by James Balog showing in the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater all weekend long. Don’t forget to use your guest passes to bring a guest for the day!

Saturday Program of Events
- 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Open house at the Museum Library and Archives. Enjoy a morning of mingling with your fellow members! On Saturday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. doors will open to The Museum Library and Archives, where you can sip on complimentary coffee from Panama 66, explore our extensive bookshelves, and meet other Museum members. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer questions about the Library and Community Engagement initiatives at the Museum. No RSVP needed; join us anytime during the event.
- 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Screening of the James Balog film, The Human Element. Head over to the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater at MOPA@SDMA to view the arresting documentary by environmental photographer, James Balog. Balog challenges the elements to capture the lives of everyday Americans on the front lines of climate change in this compassionate and thought provoking film. - Join a Docent tour! Highly trained Museum docents are offering multiple tours each day, and we’ve added a few tours especially for Member Appreciation Weekend. Each tour lasts approximately 40-50 minutes. No pre-registration required, but space may be limited. Meet your tour guide at the docent desk in the rotunda prior to the posted tour time.
