The Music of Thelonious Monk
Gilbert Castellanos and a line-up of special guests celebrate and pay tribute to Thelonious Monk, one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. This series is curated by award-winning trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, recognized six-times by the San Diego Music Awards as BEST JAZZ BAND and ARTIST OF THE YEAR; San Diego CityBeat readers voted him BEST JAZZ BAND three times, including 2018!
At 7:30 p.m., a preconcert talk will be given by Ken Poston, the General Manager for KSDS Jazz 88.3, and the Founder and Director of the Los Angeles Jazz Institute. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m.
