Get to know the Korean Art Society through this online lecture from the organization president hosted by The San Diego Museum of Art Asian Arts Council. The Korean Art Society has over 3,000 members worldwide and was the first organization outside of Korea to publish a periodical on Korean art, the Korean Art Society Journal. This lecture will tell the story of the 2008 founding of the Korean Art Society and share the organization’s mission. See colorful slides illustrating Korean Art Society events and media coverage, including front-page newspaper articles on Korean art discoveries.

Speaker Biography
Robert Turley is owner of Korean Art and Antiques Gallery and also president of the Korean Art Society. He is internationally recognized as one of the foremost experts and authors on Korean art and antiques. He is recipient of the Global Korea Award, awarded by the Council on Korean Studies at Michigan State University. He has curated the first exhibition of the renowned Lea Sneider collection of Korean art at the Korea Society, as well as curating the first ever exhibition of Korean contemporary ceramics in New York.
